Job Description

  • The NJ Restaurant and Hospitality Association is currently seeking a Membership Manager for a Full-Time Hybrid (3 days in the office/2 days remote) position.


Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for NJRHA members, responding to questions, providing assistance, and connecting members with appropriate Association resources.

  • Manage membership revenue, retention, recruitment, and related data analytics.

  • Track membership performance and trends and develop reports for presentation to the President & CEO and Association leadership.

  • Make recommendations regarding membership structure, dues categories, recruitment strategies, and member benefits.

  • Conduct meetings and outreach with prospective restaurant, hotel, hospitality, and vendor members.

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives designed to increase Association membership and improve member retention and engagement.

  • Recruit and enroll new Association members.

  • Develop and coordinate educational, informational, and networking opportunities designed to support membership recruitment and engage existing members.

  • Collaborate with the President & CEO and advocacy team to engage members in legislative initiatives, Association advocacy efforts, and grassroots activities.

  • Contribute to NJRHA social media communications, including membership activities, member highlights, benefits, programs, and updates.

  • Develop and maintain website content related to membership information, benefits, programs, and relevant updates.

  • Coordinate production of NJRHA’s weekly newsletter in collaboration with the Marketing Director, incorporating relevant Association, local, state, and national industry news and information.

  • Coordinate and oversee ad hoc committees and member groups established to address industry-specific issues, emerging trends, and current events.

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Association’s membership database and association management system, Novi AMS, and ensure accurate and effective use of membership data.

  • Collaborate with the President & CEO on the development of the annual vendor prospectus outlining NJRHA events, sponsorship opportunities, advertising opportunities, and other avenues for vendor exposure and engagement.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President & CEO.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

  • Experience in membership development, association management, business development, sales, hospitality, nonprofit management, or a related field.

  • Strong relationship-building, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to recruit new customers, members, clients, or business partners.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Comfort working with membership databases, CRM systems, data reporting, and technology.

  • Ability to analyze data and translate information into actionable membership strategies.

  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, fast-paced team.

  • Ability to interact professionally with restaurant and hotel operators, corporate executives, vendors, elected officials, industry partners, and Association volunteer leaders.

  • Knowledge of New Jersey’s restaurant, hospitality, tourism, or business community is preferred.

  • Experience with Novi AMS or another association management/CRM platform is a plus.
