Organization: New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association (NJRHA)

Location: 126 West State Street, Trenton, NJ (The Hospitality House)

Schedule: Part-Time (24 hours/week, including occasional evenings & weekends)

Compensation: $30–$35/hour

Position Summary

The NJRHA continues to grow and is seeking a highly organized and energetic Part-Time Events Manager to help plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of association events, including networking receptions, educational programs, fundraisers, and signature industry events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is looking for a flexible schedule and has a passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage aspects of NJRHA events from concept through execution
  • Coordinate logistics including venues, vendors, catering, audiovisual, and staffing
  • Manage event timelines, budgets, and registrations
  • Work closely with sponsors, partners, and members to ensure successful engagement and exposures
  • Oversee on-site event operations
  • Collaborate with marketing and membership teams on event promotion and communications
  • Track event performance and provide post-event reporting and recommendations

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of event planning and management preferred
  • A passion for New Jersey’s restaurant and hospitality industries
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working with associations or nonprofit organizations
  • Familiarity with New Jersey’s restaurant and hospitality industry
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
