We oppose any legislation that does not acknowledge the investment of current license holders. Additionally, we oppose any expansive legislation that floods the market with new licensees. We do support real compensation to existing licensees. We support legislation that would force utilization of pocket licenses that have been dormant and aren’t in compliance with ABC regulations.

Funding For the Industry

We asked for the following:
$300 million to Create a New Jersey-Specific Restaurant Revitalization Fund $100 million to Offer a Meeting and Event Incentive $405 million to Provide for Hospitality Industry Specific Relief $90 million for Employer Tax Credit for Hospitality Employee Cash Incentive
We oppose legislation that allows for public and dual consumption. We support ABC oversight of the marijuana industry, given that the agency already has the experience and knowledge required to regulate a controlled substance. Any violations by a marijuana license holder should involve the same fines and penalties pertaining to the alcohol industry. We support municipalities’ own control over whether marijuana businesses are permitted and how many licenses are available.
We support comprehensive and responsible immigration reform including a workable employee verification system, worker and visa programs, and an earned path to permanent residence for certain immigrants.
