New Jersey currently has over 1,900 students and counting enrolled in ProStart. You can see the best of these students show off their skills at our Annual ProStart Invitational each year. Our 2018 competition was held on Tuesday, February 27th at the Culinary Conference Center at Hudson County Community College in the heart of Jersey City.
In the culinary arts competition, students completed a three-course meal in one hour using no electricity. They were judged on sanitation, taste, skills, teamwork, menus, and recipes.
In the management competition, students pitched their business concepts to judges as if they were investors. Students in this tradeshow-style competition were judged on their restaurant concept, marketing, budgets, operations, and planning.

Our first place teams get to head to Providence, Rhode Island in April where they will represent the Garden State at the National ProStart Invitational.
